This shoot will always be special to me because not only was this our first “official” shoot, but it was also of my own car. This is my MK6 GTI that I have owned and built over the last few years. Although for me the time with this car has come to an end, I will forever be grateful to this platform for really showing me what it is like to love what you drive. This car has been a passion project for me and what really started me on this whole journey. Well, this car and James that is. Every time I get stuck I remind myself that a little, turboed, German hatchback started me on a path, and though difficult at times, I never gave up on it.
James thoughts
I finally took the chance on getting my first camera. A Sony A7iii. Up to this point I was using a phone to do all my car photography and I was enjoying every minute of it. I felt like the quality was not where I wanted it to be though. I took this photo using the auto mode on the camera. I couldn’t tell you what the settings were. But I took the first step. I went home and started learning to edit. Using Raw Therapee barely knowing anything. Again, taking a first step. I guess what I’m trying to say is take the first step. Then Keep taking steps. It’s more than just a photo. It’s a reminder of what we are capable of..
